Military Site Solvent Cleanup

System Configuration:
5 Retriever Wireless Data Modules

This cleanup project uses enhanced in-situ bioremediation to treat contamination by chlorinated solvents. Nutrients are injected in a closed-loop pumping system; the process produces bio-solids, so filters are included in the loop. The Retriever modules record measurements of circulation system flow rates and pressure drop across the filters, a key factor in scheduling filter maintenance.

The data also help monitor overall remediation system performance and correlate with the larger issue of bio-solids in the wells and subsurface. Nutrient feed rate tuning is also possible once a richer data set, such as that provided by the Retriever system, is available.
